I have put together this video for documentation purposes. It is worth the time because I just have to look back at this video whenever I forget how to remove and replace some parts.
This again is a basic clean up that every one who sews often should do. I am covering cleaning only underneath the feed dogs, the bobbin case and the area which holds the bobbin. The goal is to remove the fluff, dirt, loose and trapped pieces of thread. This sometimes is the reason why we have skipped stitches or “bird nests” when we sew. Sometimes I use a vacuum to remove excess lint. I just use a Miele vacuum cleaner which has great suction. However, is recommended you have a mini vacuum with a thin long spout to clean your sewing machine.
This video does not include fixing or restoring vintage sewing machines.
I am working on the second part covering the bottom part of the sewing machine (cleaning, oiling, and lubricating).
