Is this time of the year when I am cleaning my closet, recycling clothes, shoes, and taking a look at my sewing machines. I have been sewing a lot on my Singer 401 and since I bought it five years ago, have not dared to clean it…. I admit it! I have been procrastinating and taking advantage of the fact that my machine keeps going like brand new. But I think I am pushing my luck and I don’t want to compromise the quality of the stitches.
So I decided to tackle this task and thought to myself…..why don’t I document my findings so I don’t waste time reading my manual. Don’t get me wrong, I do read the manual, but whenever I have to figure out how to put back the slide plate or how to remove and put back the bobbin case I find myself wasting my time reading the manual and working with my hands to put things in place. I almost cut my finger after trying to remove the bobbin case. So I took the time ….and the pain…. to break down the task in little videos and I am done now.
